Description
The Land Court judgment of President Kingham was a landmark in QLD coal cases, where the likely impacts on biodiversity, climate change and human rights were considered to matter more than the economic benefits of the mine that would have meant the end of Bimblebox Nature Refuge.
That judgment stands.
Your loyal support over the years, including purchasing our calendar, has been invaluable in taking us to this point. Unfortunately we are still defending this judgment from attacks by Waratah Coal as they are seeking for it to be overturned through a Supreme Court action on foot, so our fight is not quite over. Sales of this calendar will thus continue to help keep Bimblebox safe.
One of the participants at the 2023 Bimblebox Art, Science and Nature camp was photographer Malcolm Paterson, who again kindly volunteered to undertake this calendar, and provided all the terrific photographs. TBA is very grateful.
Graphic artist Paula Jayne of Seedhead Design Consultancy then waved her creative wand to give it the finishing professional design touches. Her generosity in giving us her time and talent for free each year is greatly appreciated.
